Guidance Document on Acceptable Usage of Online Community Forum.
Lawful Use.
1. The material featured on this site is subject to Government copyright, according to the Copyright and Related Rights Act 2000. The material may be downloaded to file or printer for personal use only. Where this material is being issued to others, the source (including URL) and copyright status must be acknowledged. The permission to reproduce Government copyright material does not extend to any material on this site which may be the property of a third party. Authorisation to reproduce such material must be obtained from the copyright holders concerned.
2. You agree to use www.iyjs.ie only for lawful purposes, and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict or inhibit the use of this site by any third party. Prohibited behaviour includes but is not limited to defamation, harassing or causing distress or inconvenience to any person, transmitting obscene or offensive content or anything which may affect the operability or security of www.iyjs.ie.
3. The online community forum has been created as a form of service development in order to enhance capacity in projects. Politically motivated discussions or discussions about relationships or employment terms and conditions with individual management companies are not permitted.
4. You agree to use the online community forum in accordance with the following Community Rules.
(i) About your posts:
- Any posts made under your username will be held as your responsibility. Participants should be aware that while the forum is closed and for professional use, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. Therefore participants should ensure they are satisfied that they can stand over any content posted.
- Contributions must be civil and tasteful;
- Details of clients must be kept private and no names of individual children you have worked with should be mentioned. Therefore, users must take all reasonable steps to protect the anonymity of clients;
- No disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour - contributions must be constructive and polite, not mean-spirited or contributed with the intention of causing trouble;
- No unlawful or objectionable content - unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material is not acceptable;
- Be Patient - users of all abilities may be using the online forum;
- No Spamming or Off-Topic material - we don't allow the submission of the same or very similar contributions many times. Please don't re-submit your contribution to more than one discussion, or contribute off-topic material in subject-specific areas;
- No advertising or promoting;
- No impersonation;
- Deliberate misuse of the complaints facility is not permitted.
(ii) If you breach these Community Rules:
If you fail to abide by these Community Rules when taking part in the online forum you will be sent an email which informs you why your contribution has been refused or edited. This email will also include a warning that continuing to break the rules may result in action being taken against your account.
This action may include any content posted by you being checked before allowed to go on the site or a temporary or permanent suspension of your ability to participate in the online community forum.
The Irish Youth Justice Service reserves the right to contact a user's parent management company if rules are infringed.
It is impossible to prepare an exhaustive list of all unacceptable uses of the online learning community. Users should use their good judgement and common sense when using the facilities that have been provided to them.
